The donation is one of the largest gifts ever received by the ACS and will help provide support for patients in United States hospitals.      London-based AstraZeneca, maker of breast cancer drug tamoxifen and other breast and prostate cancer drugs, made $26 billion in sales last year. AstraZeneca - The Breast Cancer Biz by Allison Sloan      How the companies that cause cancer also treat cancer.      Zeneca is also the founder, since 1985, of October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), with its false message, "Early detection is your best prevention." If cancer is detected, it is obviously too late for prevention. This annual event markets the notion that mammography is our only weapon in fending off breast cancer, omitting any mention of possible environmental causes or of true prevention. "The sole mission of NBCAM is to promote the importance of the three-step application to early detection: mammography, clinical breast exam and breast self-exam," says NBCAM's promotional brochure.      Although early detection through mammography does save some lives, the brochure neglects to mention that medical irradiation, including mammography and other X-rays, is a known cause of breast cancer in younger women. As the manufacturer of pesticides and cancer treatment drugs, and as owner of cancer treatment centers, it is clearly detection and not prevention that benefits Zeneca's business plan. (March 2004) Cancers use bone marrow cells to spread tumors, study finds by John Lauerman, Bloomberg News      Cancers use cells in bone marrow to create a fertile environment for tumors to spread to other parts of the body, according to a study of mice. The bone marrow cells help make blood vessels that provide oxygen and other nutrients needed by spreading cancers, said researchers led by Rosandra Kaplan, an oncologist at Cornell University's Weill Medical College in New York. Cosmetic chemicals found in breast tumours by Gaia Vince (New Scientist)      Preservative chemicals found in samples of breast tumours probably came from underarm deodorants, UK scientists have claimed.      Their analysis of 20 breast tumours found high concentrations of para-hydroxybenzoic acids (parabens) in 18 samples. Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers. The preservatives are used in many cosmetics and some foods to increase their shelf-life. Do conventional cancer treatments work?      There is simply no evidence for the vast majority of cancers that treatment with these drugs exerts any positive influence on survival or quality of life in patients with advanced disease. The almost dogmatic belief in the efficacy of chemotherapy is usually based on false conclusions from inappropriate data.      It is quite interesting to note that studies have shown that many oncologists would not take chemotherapy themselves if they had cancer. Pollution: A life and death issue      chemicals are a frequent pollutant. When we think of chemical contamination it is often images of events like Bhopal that come to mind. But the problem is widespread. One study says 7-20% of cancers are attributable to poor air and pollution in homes and workplaces. The WHO, concerned about chemicals that persist and build up in the body, especially in the young, says we may "be conducting a large-scale experiment with children's health".      Some man-made chemicals, endocrine disruptors like phthalates and nonylphenol - a breakdown product of spermicides, cosmetics and detergents - are blamed for causing changes in the genitals of some animals. Affected species include polar bears - so not even the Arctic is immune. And the chemicals climb the food chain, from fish to mammals - and to us. About 70,000 chemicals are on the market, with around 1,500 new ones appearing annually. At least 30,000 are thought never to have been comprehensively tested for their possible risks to people. The Link Between Pesticides and Breast Cancer      The World Health Organisation estimates that 33% of all illness is due to environmental causes, a figure which rises to 40% in the case of children. For cancer, specifically, genetic factors represent scarcely 10% of cases. The rest are due to "what we eat, drink, breathe..., our lifestyle," according to Olea "although, as the study shows, some carcinogenic elements manage to incorporate themselves in our diet us giving them our permission to do so."

Cervical Cancer Virus Myth Exposed by Fred Harding      When I was researching my book Breast Cancer "Cause - Prevention - Cure" I came upon considerable evidence to show that chemicals (and radiation) was the primary cause of all cancers. Health Wars by J.B.      The cancer industry is so desperate to make money by "treating" patients that it will actually invoke the threat of physical violence (i.e. "gunpoint medicine") to force patients to comply. It just goes to show you how far removed modern medicine is from anything resembling healing, compassion, patients' rights or fundamental ethics. As rightly shown in this comic, some oncologists have become ego-driven monsters who can't wait to jab a needle into some poor kid.      And it's all likely to get worse if we don't take back our health freedom from this system of medicine that has devolved into a corrupt, profit-seeking sham that routinely trades the lives of patients for corporate profits. Cancer is a multi billion-dollar industry, and there's only money to be made in "treating" cancer, not in actually preventing it or curing it, which is exactly why the cancer industry doesn't want anyone visiting alternative cancer clinics where cancer is routinely cured through herbs, nutrition, radical detoxification therapies and other treatments that really work. The Cancer Industry by No More Breast Cancer Campaign      There would appear to be little hope for the 'primary prevention' of breast cancer becoming a priority for the cancer industry. Evidence for this situation can be found in the long-prevailing silence from the industry on environmental and occupational factors in breast cancer (and other cancers of the reproductive system).      A thriving enterprise with a guaranteed future, 'cancer' is a growth industry in every sense of the word. It would be extremely unlikely that this particular industry would champion a case which has the potential to undermine its very existence. Medical Charities & Cancer Research Hoax      It may be hard to believe but the purpose of cancer research is not to find a cure for cancer but to perpetuate the cancer industry consisting mostly of research and chemotherapy. In the US alone this was estimated to be $110 Billion yearly quite a few years ago.      If the truth came out and was acted upon then over 90% of this income would vanish, quite apart from the political implications. As if the billions looted from the taxpayers wasn't enough, they then have to extract even more through the charities, who also play an important part in maintaining the deception, the American Cancer Society (ACS) being notable, as Barry Lynes documents in 'The Healing of Cancer.'      Charities of this type are service-to-self posing as service-to-others, known as 'do-gooders', and there has to be some measure of (covert) hostility in promoting killer drugs such as AZT, most cancer chemotherapy, and maintaining most disease causes are a mystery with no know cures. The handmaidens of the Medical Cartel. Corrupt Charities      At one time, the American Cancer Society spent only 26 percent of its national multibillion-dollar budget on actual medical research, allotting the other three-fourths to “operating expenses.” In 2005, the Phoenix New Times reported that the Arizona branch of the organization spent a gasp-inducing 95 percent on overhead costs, leaving cancer victims “only the crumbs.      At the Arizona branch, the nonprofit spends 22 times as much on paying employees, maintaining the offices, and keeping the coffee machine running than on the cancer victims they are supposedly aiming to save.
