Disclaimer of Nude Material

Some areas of this site contain non-pornographic nudity that are used for educational or artistic illustrative purposes as illustrated on this page.

I am fully aware that people have varying attitudes towards nudity. Although nowadays many people will find it quite normal to bathe without clothing, sleep naked, sunbathe in the nude or at least topless, and usually people are prepared to disrobe for a medical examination so it should not be a big deal. But the reality is when it comes to seeing other people naked whether in a live social setting or in photos on the Internet, this can be distressing. In fact some people can be so distressed by the sight of the naked body or have a psychological aversion to nudity that it is regarded as a mental illness and given the name of gymnophobia.

It is not the purpose of this site to distress people but to show that not all nudity is bad. There is such a thing as good nudity and when placed in the context of education or art, or even to show the beauty of the human body, this should do no harm and in fact may do a lot of good.

It is true that the wearing of clothes is the social norm in most cultures today, but did you know that for most of human history social nudity was accepted as normal in many parts of the world. When Columbus landed in the islands of the West Indies, he was confronted by an indigenous population that lived most of the year naked. He said of them, "They all go quite naked as their mothers bore them; and also the women, although I didn't see more than one really young girl. All that I saw were young men, none of them more than 30 years old, very well built, of very handsome bodies and very fine faces".

As European explorers travelled the world during the last few centuries they often came across naked cultures during their explorations in Africa, India, Polynesia, Australia, Tasmania, South America and other places. Artists were often on hand to paint such encounters and later with the advent of photography, this new media captured for posterity these now lost cultures. Such photos cannot be regarded as pornographic and they were often published in magazines such as National Geographic.

I have carried out extensive research on socially accepted nudity in cultures throughout history but it is not the purpose of this disclaimer to discuss this here. I have written a booked called "The Natural Way" that puts to pen what I have learned. Coming back to this nome, as I said earlier it is not my purpose to distress people even though they may be suffering from a recognised mental illness.

The truth of the matter is that nudity is not about the lack of clothes but rather whether genitalia can be observed or not. Consequently, so as not to offend anyone visiting my site who might be distressed about seeing people nude I will not will not show male and female genitalia (women do not have external genitalia, but pubic hair offends lots of people) accepted in certain circumstances. For example, in exceptional circumstances it may be necessary to show genitalia when for example discussing a medical condition where an illustration helps to focus on the topic under discussion or showing photos of the past peoples whose acceptance of nudity was the norm, as in the picture to the left showing native warriors in East Africa in 1905.

Having participated in naturism as far as I can remember (I was born nude as everyone was) I am comfortable not wearing clothes. For those who share my lifestyle and who are not distressed by full nudity genitalia I have set up a secure and protected area of this site that may be accessed via a login subject to a subscription fee. Details elsewhere. My book called "The Natural Way" can only be accessed in this protected area because it does contain extensive non-pornograhic nudity. More on that book can be found in the book section of his site.

There are areas of my site that discuss health and there are pictures of me illustrating the steps I have taken to obtain in my opinion a healthy and toned body. Under the heading of "Naked Health" uncensored pictures will be found in the protected area, but as I also want the reader to get their body into shape and live a healthy lifestyle, I have also placed articles here in the general area that show some of those pictures. However these I have censored.

The picture on the right for example shows one of me aged 45 and another picture aged 56. Clearly there is a reaon for showing the picture as evidence of what I write about is true. While I am not shy in showing myself fully naked and I do not believe that by doing that I am showing anything that is pornographic just because I am showing my genitalia, nonetheless I have censored such pictures anyway in case I should offend anyone. The content of the article is more important but pictures do help to visualise what I am writing.

I want you to enjoy your visit to this site and to know that if you do encounter pictures of nudity or semi-nudity, that they will be shown in the best possible taste with no intention to offend. That then is my disclaimer.
